On the afternoon of March 31, 2023, the Institute of Life Sciences - Thai Nguyen University solemnly held a Conference to summarize Science and Technology (S&T) activities in 2022, together with orientation to 2023.
Attending the Conference were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Van Phung - Former Director, member of the Science and Technology Council of the Institute of Life Sciences (TiLS); Dr. Bui Thi Thom - Director of the Institute of Life Science; The Board of Directors and all staff of the Institute of Life Science.

At the Conference, the delegates heard Dr. Nguyen Manh Tuan - Deputy Director present the report on the results of S&T activities in 2022. Specifically, the Institute of Life Sciences chaired and performed a total of 22 science and technology tasks at all levels, of which 5 were at the State level, 01 bilateral mission with Korea, 03 ministerial-level tasks, 06 provincial-level tasks, 05 science and technology transfer tasks, and 02 university-level tasks. From the research results, TiLS published 02 accepted intellectual property applications and 22 scientific articles (of which, 06 prestigious international articles on the list of ISI/Scopus and 16 domestic articles). On average, 0.25 international articles/officer and 0.67 domestic articles/officer were published. Besides, the Institute of Life Science has created 12 highly commercialized products from scientific research results.

At the Conference, the Institute of Life Science rewarded 02 individuals with excellent achievements in S&T activities in 2022, including (1) Dr. Nguyen Manh Tuan – Head of the Laboratory of Microbiology Technology (published 02 international articles on the list of ISI/Scopus and 02 accepted inventions); (2) MSc. Nguyen Thuong Tuan - Deputy Laboratory of Chemistry of Natural Compounds (published 02 international articles on the list of ISI/Scopus and announced 04 commercialized products).

Also at the Conference, the Institute's units presented and discussed difficulties, challenges, and solutions to further promote scientific research activities to create high-quality, value, and potential products for commercialization under the brand name of the unit; as well as promoting the transfer of scientific research results into practice for the Northern Midlands and Mountains.
Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Phung shared his experiences in S&T activities and breakthrough solutions along the short and long-term roadmap in building a team of young scientists to adapt to the current technological development trend.

Concluding at the Conference, Dr. Bui Thi Thom - Director emphasized that scientific research is one of the main activities of the Institute of Life Science and has achieved outstanding achievements. However, it is necessary to have specific plans and solutions to promote the staff, especially young ones, to participate in and approach science and technology tasks at all levels; Strengthen the management of S&T tasks at all levels to ensure quality & compliance with current regulations; Continue to seek and cooperate in science and technology with partners, and promote science and technology publication at home and abroad.
